At the conclusion of the ceremony of the dedication of the “Circle of Stones” a bagpiper marched around the circle while playing Amazing Grace. Immediately, after he finished playing, another bagpiper, being filmed by a local TV station, began playing Amazing Grace again, this time, from behind the sand dunes. As he continued to play he walked to the top of the dunes overlooking the “Circle of Stones” while the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse appeared to be watching with approval in the background. As one looked around the crowd, there were many eyes filled with tears.
