This lighthouse was designed by James Walker, using the screwpile invention developed by Alexander Mitchell (1780-1868). By the 1950s, it was in danger of collapsing because the underwater piles had become corroded.

Description of Tower: Red screwpile lighthouse with a dwelling under the lantern.

Date Present Tower Built: 1956

Current Use: Destroyed.
