The fort here, which dates back to the late 1500s, has been a museum since 1964. The museum is open to the public, but the lighthouse tower is not open. Tower Height: 20 Height of Focal Plane: 56 Characteristic and Range: Two green flashes every 7 seconds; range 6 nautical miles. Description of Tower: Unpainted hexagonal stone tower with green lantern, near eastern end of fort.
