This lighthouse replaced the Cape Maria Van Diemen Light Station, established in 1878 on a small island offshore. Cape Reinga is a popular tourist destination known for its spectacular views. This is where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet. Tower Height: 33 Height of Focal Plane: 541 Characteristic and Range: White flash every 13 seconds, visible for 26 nautical miles.
