At the placard unveiling of the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse, each attendee was presented with a 4” x 6” postcard with the lighthouse display artwork, exactly as shown on the placard, as a memento of the event to help ensure that the story of offshore lighthouses is not forgotten.

The second placard, dedicated on July 12, 2019 at the Sandy Point State Park, honors the 1883 Sandy Point Shoals Lighthouse that sits offshore in the Upper Chesapeake Bay, north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland.

In the past, the Chesapeake Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society has also delivered indoor placards for the Love Point Lighthouse to the Chesapeake Bay Heritage and Visitors Center on Ken Island, Maryland; the Janes Island Lighthouse to the Tawes Museum in Crisfield, Maryland; the Fishing Battery Lighthouse to the Concord Point Lighthouse Museum in Havre de Grace, Maryland; and for the no longer standing Greenbury Point Lighthouse to the Greenbury Point Nature Center in Annapolis, Maryland.

By press time, the Chesapeake Chapter plans to deliver more historical placards to other locations in Maryland and Virginia.
