The 1883 Sandy Point Shoal Lighthouse was sold at a government auction in 2006 for $250,000. Today it is unsafe and efforts to save it seem remote. The lighthouse is located in the Upper Chesapeake Bay, north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge near Skidmore, Maryland. Back to the edition of: Sep/Oct 2019
