Maine’s Bear Island Lighthouse as it appeared in the 1970s when the DCB-10 Aero Beacon was in the lantern. Built in 1889, the lighthouse is located near Northwest Harbor at the entrance to Somes Sound. The lighthouse is now owned by the National Park Service. Back to the edition of: Sep/Oct 2023
