Notes: This lighthouse was built by Tampa Bay Watch, a nonprofit organization the marine and wetlands enviroments of the Tampa Bay estuary. The lighthouse was built to resemble the Boca Grande Lighthouse, and it also serves as a marine center and educational facility. Date Established: 2005 Date Present Tower Built: 2005 Current Use: Active aid to navigation, marine center. Open To Public? Yes. Directions: From Tampa, take I-275 South toward St. Petersburg. Get off at Exit 17, Pinellas Bayway S. SR 682 (toll). Take a left at the junction of SR 679 and follow the signs to Fort De Soto Park.
