Engineer Robert Stevenson designed this lighthouse. It is the third tallest in Scotland (North Ronaldsay and Skerryvore are taller) .
Tower Height: 135 Height of Focal Plane: 174 Characteristic and Range: Four white flashes every 30 seconds, visible for 24 nautical miles. Description of Tower: White, conical tower with two red horizontal bands.
