The 1910 Duluth Harbor North Breakwater Lighthouse, also known as the Duluth Harbor North Pier Lighthouse in Duluth, Minnesota has been declared as excess property by the federal government.

This means that any other government agency or any qualified nonprofit may apply for ownership of the lighthouse for free. If none do, then the lighthouse will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The lighthouse is located at the entrance to Duluth Harbor on Lake Superior and can easily be reached by foot by walking out on the Duluth Ship Canal North Pier.

Two other lighthouses nearby are the Duluth Harbor South Breakwater Inner Lighthouse and the Duluth Harbor South Breakwater Outer Lighthouse. (Lighthouse Digest archives photo by Ryan Rowe)
