This past July 11, the Lake County Historical Society, the group that owns the Two Harbors Lighthouse in Two Harbors, Minnesota, removed the old DCB-224 aero-beacon from the lighthouse lantern. The revolving light became nonoperational in November of 2019 and it could not be repaired.
A modern plastic beacon has been installed in the lantern until a permanent new lens can be purchased. The Historical Society hopes to raise $50,000 for a new lens.
