A ceremony was held this past July to place a U.S. Lighthouse Service Memorial Grave Marker at the tombstone of Philip F. Eby at the Pinecrest Cemetery in Oscoda, Michigan. Philip Eby served as the 2nd assistant lighthouse keeper at the LaPointe Lighthouse in Wisconsin from 1913 to 1915 and assistant keeper at the Crisp Point Lighthouse in Michigan from 1915 to around 1917.
At the same time, the group placed a U.S. Life Saving Service marker at the gravesite of James Burton Hunter who was the keeper of the Crisp Point Life-Saving Station.
The double ceremony was sponsored by the Crisp Point Light Historical Society.
