The Keepers of Presqu’ile Point Lighthouse Association (KOPPLA) are inviting the public to the 175th Anniversary of the Presqu’ile Pont Lighthouse in Brighton, Ontario, Canada. The event will take place July 15-19.
Built in 1840, the Canadian government removed the lantern room of the lighthouse in the mid-1960s, leaving a headless lighthouse that still remains a popular tourist attraction with an interpretative center at the Presqu’ile Provincial Park. The area, with its hiking trails, is stated to be one of the best places for bird watching in all of Ontario.
