Old photographs all have a story to tell, especially if you know who the people in the photos are. Unfortunately, we don’t know who sent these photographs to us, however their note indicated that they came from old cabinet photos taken at the Math Mathson studio in Astoria, Oregon. The photos appear to be the same man, taken at different times in his life.
It would appear this man might have been a crew member on a lighthouse tender that might have been based out of the Tongue Point Lighthouse Buoy Depot near Astoria, Oregon. If any of our readers or historical society subscribers can help identify this person or furnish photos of the old Lighthouse Depot in Astoria, we would appreciate hearing from you at Editor@LighthouseDigest.com or at P.O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630.
