Washington state’s Mukilteo Lighthouse recently celebrated its 100th birthday with festivities that included a number of activities.
The lighthouse, built in 1906 was automated in 1979 and is now managed by the Mukilteo Historical Society and the City of Mukilteo. The lighthouse is open for public tours and has a gift shop. The lens from the Desdemona Sands Lighthouse, which once stood on a sandbank in the Columbia River, is also on display in the museum.
