Members of this past fall’s Oceanwood Maine Elderhostel Tour took a moment to pose in front of Lighthouse Depot in Wells, Maine.

As well as learning about lighthouses, this group had a memorable experience from a visit to Wood Island Lighthouse. In fact, many of them thought they might have been left stranded for the night at the island lighthouse after a change in the tide and weather made exiting the island rather difficult.

Joe Plasse, Assistant Director of Oceanwood, standing, fourth from the right, hosts several Lighthouse Elderhostels every year. If you are interested in attending one of them contact Joe Plasse, Oceanwood Camp & Conference Center, P.O. Box 7338, Ocean Park, ME 04063 or call them at 207-934-9655. You can also e-mail them at office@oceanwood.org
