Celebrating 200 years of light at Cape Hatteras October 18, 2003 the circle of stones marking the original location of the lighthouse have been tossed about after a hurricane. The park service has since put the stones back in a circle but this picture is a reminder that the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse might not still be standing if it had not been moved to safety.
