Aerial view of the Naval disaster at Honda Point from a photo taken in September of 1923 showing some of wrecked destroyers. Twenty two sailors lost their lives but the Point Arguello Lighthouse keepers and other local residents helped rescue 550 sailors. The government contracted for a train to come from San Francisco to pick up the sailors. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
