This is a rare, now historical, image that will never again be able to be replicated. It was taken underneath the excavated lighthouse, looking up into the tower after the removal of the floor, and revealing the granite foundation stones below, and also showing the metal stairs and second level deck above. The pink string hanging from the center pole holds the plumb-bob to mark the center point of the lighthouse relative to the center point of the new foundation pad.
