The U.S. Bureau of Lighthouses created this emblem or logo for the 150th Anniversary of the Lighthouse Service. But its use was limited because Congress dissolved the Lighthouse Service that same year and its duties were taken over by the Coast Guard. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
