This is the same bench Mrs. Hellwig was sitting on, during the 2013 visit. The coal fired heater was replaced by a conventional fireplace. Something worth noting: Since all windows and doors were boarded up upon our arrival, one of the boards covering a door had to be unbolted by the U.S. Coast Guard to let us in. With no electricity in the house, we had to find our way around with the light from our smartphones. We really did not get a good look at some areas until we saw the photos, taken with a flash, on our phones and cameras! Photo by Bill Edwards.
