The Sabine Pass Lighthouse was haunted back in the 1960's. The phantom is supposed to be the spirit of an old time lighthouse keeper that kept dropping in on the caretaker at that time. It seems the ghost would appear at the bed of caretaker and was a man wearing a dark colored suit with the lighthouse K insignia on the jacket and the emblem of the old U.S. Lighthouse Service on his hat. After numerous appearances by the ghost, caretakers were never assigned back to the lighthouse.
