Langara Point Lighthouse keeper Gorden Schweers doing one of the three hourly weather reports were part of his required duties in 1995. After 40 years of living at lighthouses, Gorden Schweers retired from lighthouse keeping in 2012. The Langara Point Lighthouse Station also serves as a Pacific Tsunami Early Warning Station.
