Squirrel Point Lighthouse keeper Charles L. Knight is shown on the right and out of uniform. He is standing next to his life-long friend, lighthouse keeper Eugene Coleman, who is in his uniform. Eugene Coleman served as a lighthouse keeper at Nauset Lighthouse in Massachusetts and at a number of Maine lighthouses, including Bass Harbor Head Light, Doubling Point Lighthouse, and Nubble Lighthouse where his cat, Sambo, gained considerable notoriety for making daily swims in the channel by the lighthouse.
