Harold E. Seavey, shown here with Addie Norton Seavey, at his son’s wedding on January 24, 1953, became the keeper at Squirrel Point Lighthouse in 1937. It is believed he served there until 1955. Originally a civilian keeper in the U.S. Lighthouse Service, he elected to join the Coast Guard as a military keeper in 1939 when the Coast Guard took over the U.S. Lighthouse Service.
