Completed in 1879, it took eight years to finish construction of the Race Rock Lighthouse. Located off the western end of Fishers Island, New York, the architect for the lighthouse was F. Hopkinson Smith, who also built the foundation for the Statue of Liberty. Back to the edition of: Jan/Feb 2023
