This portrait of Joseph Bernard McCabe was drawn from a poor print copy photo in a 1916 newspaper article announcing his death. Joseph served for eight years at Deer Island Lighthouse in Boston Harbor, Massachusetts, before his tragic death. The last three years, he was head keeper there.
