Gravestone of Wellman Spear, Jr., who was the assistant keeper at Whitehead Lighthouse from October 15, 1860 until March 27 or 29 of 1861. Born on March 28, 1843, he died on January 17, 1899 and is buried at the Seaview Cemetery in Rockland, Maine.
