Wife number two, Linda Gertrude Wiley, was born on March 22, 1872, in Boston, Massachusetts. She married Asa Hudson Josselyn II on June 15, 1896 at age 24 and they had two children together. They were finally officially divorced in 1907, four years after she had left Asa at Thachers Island Lighthouse. She then married George Henry Haverstock on April 20, 1912 and died on July 28, 1918 at the young age of 46. According to Asa, their marriage was never legal because he hadn’t been divorced from his first wife for the mandatory two years before remarriage. (The Boston Globe, May 20, 1907)
