In her book, Ila Albee Lee tells of a rescue her father Thomas Wyman Albee made at Point Robinson Lighthouse. A couple of men had come over to the beach (shown here with Wyman standing on a log near the keepers’ houses) to collect driftwood to barge home for firewood. Their skiff foundered and they were hanging onto the side when Wyman and his assistant, Jens “Pete” Pedersen, took the station boat out to bring them back to the lighthouse. Wyman “loaned them each one of his union suit underwear to go home with and much to his regret they never returned them.” (Courtesy of Albee Family Archives)
