Photo Caption:
Vintage image of Random Head Lighthouse on Motion Island as seen on an unusually calm day. This image shows just how isolated the lighthouse keeper’s family was, living on the top of what is nothing more than a rock jutting up out of the water. Most times the water here is very rough, making arrival by boat difficult and often dangerous. The boat ramp was lost long ago and only the tower remains today.
