In 1983, Godfrey C. Kiff, Sr. donated this model that he had built of Louisiana’s Ship Shoal Lighthouse to the Morgan City (Louisiana) City Library. He said that it took him ten months to build it from copper, brass, and aluminum, and lots of brass screws. “I think I put in twelve dollars worth of brass screws – I almost bought all the screws out of Shannon’s store.” (Photo courtesy Morgan City Library.)
