Tarpaulin Cove Lighthouse, in Massachusetts, where Carl D. Hill served as the lighthouse keeper. Located on Naushon Island, this was somewhat of a lonely outpost for the lighthouse keepers. In 1962, the then dilapidated keepers’ homes were demolished. Although the light tower still stands, the island is off limits to the public. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
