USLHS No. 1 working on the construction of the Poe Reef Lighthouse in Lake Huron near Cheboygan, Michigan in 1928. A base camp for the work crew was established on the Cheboygan River. One photo shows the bunk house for the workers being hoisted onto the crib of the lighthouse.
