Egg Rock Lighthouse near Bar Harbor, Maine as it appeared in 1935 when Clinton L. “Buster” Dalzell was stationed there. Although it had been replaced by a fog horn, at the time this photo was taken in 1935 the old fog bell tower was still standing. Barely visible in the left side of the photo is one of the cannons that were left on the island from the time that it was a coastal defense battery. The cannons are now on display on the Bar Harbor Shore Walk in Bar Harbor, Maine. (Photo by Elizabeth Dalzell, Lighthouse Digest archives.)
