*Photo Caption:*		Skarð Lighthouse This light is located 11 km north of the fishing village of Hvammstangi on a bluff marking the east side of the entrance to the Miðfjörður (fjörður = fjord). It is a 46 foot tall round white stone tower with a red lantern. The tower is surrounded by the ever-present Icelandic sheep that graze free range in the area. Back to the edition of: Mar/Apr 2017
