LaFon Baker by the Fresnel lens that was once in the Anacapa Lighthouse and is now on display in the visitor’s center. Baker, in recalling the many hours spent polishing the lens when it was in the tower said that the lens, as beautiful as it is on display in a museum setting, is similar to seeing an animal in the zoo. “It’s just not the same.” Back to the edition of: April 2010
