Our cover photo this month is the Sapelo Lighthouse near Darien, Georgia. It is part of the Sapelo Island Estuarine Reserve. A major restoration of the lighthouse took place in 1997-1998, culminating with the relighting of the lighthouse on September 6, 1998. Photo of the restored Sapelo Lighthouse was taken by Janine Williams of Nashville, Tennessee. The “before” shot was taken by Jerry Biggs of Florida.
