This month's cover photo of the South Haven Michigan Pier Light shows just how cold it can really get on Lake Michigan. The photo was taken by Bill Penrose of West Branch Michigan. Bill is the co-author of the popular series of Great Lakes Lighthouse books including a Travelers Guide to 116 Michigan Lighthouses.
The South Haven Pier Light was built in 1903 replacing an earlier 1872 lighthouse.
