Notes: Bill Frabotta purchased Sand Hills Lighthouse Station in 1961. The fog signal building served as
his summer cottage for more than 30 years. The station was fully restored between 1992 and 1995 and was opened as Bed and Breakfast. In November of 2016 Bill Frabotta died. The lighthouse was sold and closed in 2019 for restoration and the new owners expect to again take reservations in 2020. Current Use: Bed and breakfast inn. Open To Public? Yes. Museum? The lighthouse is open to the public between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., May through October. Directions: Follow Highway 41 to Ahmeek and turn left at the first street. You'll see signs directing you to Five Mile Point Road. Continue for eight miles to the lighthouse.
