Notes:
There was a large settlement at Long Point in the mid-1800s, with a salt works and a schoolhouse. Many of the houses at Long Point were floated across the harbor to Provincetown's West End, where they still stand.

Optics: c. 1842: 10 lamps and reflectors; 1856: Sixth order Fresnel lens; 1875: Fifth order Fresnel lens; now 300 mm, solar powered.

Fog Signal: 1875: 1,200 pound fog bell and striking mechanism; now automated fog horn with one blast every 15 seconds.

Current Use: Active aid to navigation.
