This lighthouse was designed by engineer Robert Stevenson. Tower Height: 66 Height of Focal Plane: 344 Characteristic and Range: Four white flashes every 30 seconds, visible for 26 nautical miles. Description of Tower: White, conical stone tower.

Rowland Brooks writes: "Officially the grounds around the lighthouse are private, as the old lighthouse accommodation building is now a private home. You can get good photos from the public viewing area. However, as long as permission is requested from the owners, there should be no problem if someone wanted a closer view."
