Maryland’s 1901 Fort Washington Lighthouse may be doomed if repairs are not made soon.

In 2005, the National Park Service obtained ownership of the lighthouse, and in 2009 they restored it. But that was nearly 10 years ago. Since then, the lighthouse has suffered serious rot and decay.

Reports indicate that the National Park Service has the money in their 2020 budget to restore it. However, will that be too late?
