Recently, Judy Watson Brennan shared an immense number of photos with us that had been taken by her father, MCPO James Kenneth Watson, while he was stationed at six different Pacific Coast lighthouses from 1941 to 1949, before he was transferred to serve on the USCGC Dallas. Obviously, it would be impossible for us to publish all of the photos, but, from time to time we will publish some of the photos to help preserve a slice of the history associated with those six lighthouses.

These photos were taken between February 1948 and February 1949 at the New Dungeness Lighthouse Station in the Strait of Juan de Fuca in Sequim, Washington.

Two of photos show how the New Dungeness Light Station appeared at that time. Two other photos show Judy Watson (Brennan) and her brother Jimmy Watson at play at the lighthouse. How many of you remember the pedal cars?

The final two photos show the New Dungeness Light Station’s boat washed up and wrecked after a severe storm. You will notice the name of lighthouse on the stern of the boat.
