In what may be the largest lighthouse image in a corn field ever created, the owners of Bowles Farms, in Clements, Maryland, have created a 15-acre cornfield maze of their state's Blackistone Lighthouse.
The Bowles Farm, located at the junctions of Route 234 and Pincushion Road in Clements, Maryland, is an amazing farm that they have opened to the public, which includes a petting zoo, straw jumping, a kids' corn box (like a sand box, but filled with kernels of corn) pumpkin painting, a mini straw maze for kids, and so much more.
In past years they have created corn mazes of other Maryland sites, but this year, in honor of the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge, they created an unbelievable three-and-a-half-mile twisting and turning lighthouse maze of the Blackistone Lighthouses that is encompassed within 10-foot high corn stalks covering an amazing fifteen acres of land.
They say that half the fun in going through the maze is why getting lost can be fun. They are to be congratulated for their efforts to help promote lighthouses to the general public. Bowles Farms is open until November 2, when it closed for the season.
