California's Old Point Loma Lighthouse was recently rededicated in honor of the opening of the rebuilt assistant keeper's house, which now houses a museum exhibit, which will include the Fresnel lens from the nearby New Point Loma Lighthouse.
Those in attendance witnessed a well orchestrated ceremony that included horse drawn wagon train rides, staff and volunteers dressed in period costumes and folk music. Bill Younger, founder of Harbour Lights, was on hand and gave away a lighthouse to each child who attended the ceremony.
The day’s festivities culminated with the lighting of the of the old Fresnel light.
