Photo Caption:
An experimental lighthouse built at the St. George Lighthouse Depot on Staten Island NY. It is believed that this lighthouse was moved from the site to become the Romer Shoal Lighthouse. Look closely at the lighthouse tender to the right and you will see the official pennant of the United States Lighthouse Service flying from its rear mast. We would like to locate additional photos of the Staten Island Depot, especially those with people in the images. (Lighthouse Digest archives photo.) Back to the edition of: Jan/Feb 2009
