Photo Caption:
Squirrel Point Lighthouse Station as it appeared in April 2013. The lighthouse is on Arrowsic Island on the banks of Kennebec River in Maine. The light station once had a fog bell that was replaced by different fog horns, the last being an FA/232 sound signal, which stood on the outside upper deck of the tower. Sometime between 2008 and 2011 the fog horn was removed. (Photograph by Bob Trapani, Jr. Executive Director, American Lighthouse Foundation.) Back to the edition of: Nov/Dec 2013
