In 1959, LeRoy White paid a visit to his father, retired lighthouse keeper, Walter White, at his Vashon Island home in Washington. Walter liked whirly-gigs and LeRoy made many for him which could be mounted on posts out in the yard where gardening was Walter’s main occupation during his retirement years. (Courtesy of Carol Hill)
