LeRoy’s niece, Betty Westby, records: “LeRoy White loved lighthouses but I think he loved cars more. His youngest sister LaVerne said that the family always had cars when she was growing up and that she and LeRoy had several different cars during their high school days and after. All of his life, he loved looking at the new styles of cars coming out and bought a new one every couple of years. Roy often drove LaVerne to school; he had a Model T.
